My daughter went running up to him and scared him and since then has been freaked out on edge...how can i calm him down? I have move to the toy given to him and he is now attacking methodically after a period of watching? Any one any advise how to settle him? Thanks in advance|||I think he just needs time to calm down and realize that the toy isn't going to get him. If you can leave the house for awhile, that would help. Otherwise, just go about your business and ignore him until he calms down.|||He's obviously frightened of the toy now and that's why he's attacking it.
It could take a while for him to calm down over this but depending on what the toy's made of, buy a product called Feliway which is a feline pheromone, spray some on the toy and then leave it around for him to smell it. This will calm him down and hopefully he'll stop attacking it.
Unfortunately cats tend to get frightened easily when a child runs at them, they have no idea that the child isn't going to hurt them and as a result whatever's in their hands, even the child themselves, can bring on fear that can last for a time.|||here is a few thing you can do
you could move the toy
get the cat a interesting toy so he/she wont notice the other toy
whenever your cat gets scared of it then just pat him/her or relax him/she with maybe something else and he/she might get over the fear
p.he/she is probably scared because toy may seem like a Predator to your cat|||leav e the house and let him calm down and rest for a while, and when i say leave the house i just mean go shopping or something, maybe even buy some catnip or something|||I would suggest CATNIP. Works for my cats all the time.|||give him lots of freash air and take him to the vet in case there is somthing wrong.
