|||Never buy a dog from a website - no good breeder sells their puppies to strangers they haven't met, or ships tiny puppies across the country, so the only puppies you find for sale online are badly bred ones from puppymillers. Why on earth would you buy a puppy you hadn't been to see and interact with in person, anyway?

Try using Petfinder to locate Poodles in rescues in your state: http://www.petfinder.com

Alternatively, contact the Poodle Club of America who can refer you to good, responsible breeders, provide advice about how to identify a quality puppy and breeder, and also give you more information about breed rescue organisations: http://www.poodleclubofamerica.org/|||You really don't want to buy a dog from anywebsite, and especially one that "has a good selection"- it's a bad combination! Any place that has a "good selection of dogs (especially a toy breed) is a puppymill, and the dogs are from horrible condition and usually have health issues.

If you want a poodle, please go to www.akc.org and check out the breeders listed there.|||Yeah...www.akc.org is a great place to get a GOOD HEALTHY dog.|||A good breeder or rescue organization are the only places where you'd want to get a toy poodle. Didn't you watch Oprah? Puppy shops and websites buy the puppies from terrible "factories" called puppy mills. The parents of the dogs sold at the shops and sites are up to their ears in filth and are never cared for. They are bred over and over until they die. People in puppy stores and websites will lie because they've been trained to ("Of course our pups come from good breeders!") but this is false. They will do anything to make a buck. Don't give them your $.

Check Akc.org if you want to find a breeder. Be sure that the pups have had shots and meet the parents of the litter. Ask a lot of questions. Supporting rescue organizations is a great help, too.

http://www.oprah.com/world/global/slide/鈥?/a>|||Please don't order a dog over the internet. PLEASE PLEASE consider looking into shelters and humane societies before you buy a dog from a breeder. There are so many dogs that need homes and if you look around I bet you can find a dog that you are looking for.

Even if you won't look at a shelter, please don't order one over the internet from an unknown breeder. You never know the conditions the dog came from and what type of puppy mill it is.
