What is a kid's favorite non-electronic toy?

I'd like to give a gift to my little cousins that is powered by imagination, not batteries. One is a boy, around age six, and the other is a girl, around age three. I would also like some old fashioned/vintage toy ideas alongside the modern ones.|||Hello,
