Where is the best place to buy toy poodles?

I'm looking for reasonalbe tea cup or toy poodles for a surprise xmas gift for my girl friend. Any websites, or infomation as to where i can find some will be helpful.|||If you love her (or even LIKE her!), don't get her a teacup. She deserves better than a dog that will be extremely sick and die.

If you want a toy poodle, check shelters, rescues, and breed clubs in your area.|||i honestly dont suggest getting a toy or tea cup poodle

if u want a small dog get a mini poodle

their much better and less yappy and tend to have less behavior and health problems then the really tiny ones

i would look at rescues and shelters and humane societies

your bound to fine a good one there|||get one from a breeder or shelter. don't get a teacup though... get a toy poodle. i think the teacups aren't as healthy.|||The best place to buy any purebred puppy is from a breeder, not a pet store. Pet stores often carry puppy mill puppies which usually have been taken from the litter too young and are often not healthy, besides they are overpriced. Check the newspaper for puppies for sale.

By the way, puppies often do not make good surprise gifts, make sure she wants one, and that it is OK with anyone else in her household.|||Don't do it. If she get's tired of all the work, it's going to a shelter. If you do get her one, have her go with you to see the dog first. Get one from a shelter or rescue and save a life. http://petfinder.com

No pet stores. http://stoppuppymills.org, http://saynotopetstorepuppies.com, http://millbusters.com

I have a Toy Poodle, and she's a lot more work than my "shedding" dogs were. |||www.petfinder.com Adopt, and save a life!

Good Luck!|||Call your local humane society or dog pound they might have one or know where to find one.|||Consider adopting from a shelter. Maybe a teacup would not be what she really wanted, they are prone to health problems. Stay away from pet stores and pet shops if you just have to get one, go to a reliable breeder.|||Please don't surprise her with a puppy. Find a reputable breeder or breed rescue or even local shelter with dogs you think she'd like and take her there. That way she can pick out a puppy she likes. Tell her what you want to do and she can tell you if she is really ready for the commitment and work a puppy requires. Make sure she knows EVERYTHING about what poodles need as far as grooming, training, etc so that she is well prepared. Dogs are living things, not toys or jewelry, they are a huge responsibility so they should not be adopted/bought on a whim. Toy breeds especially can live a very long time (up to 15 years, sometimes more) so it is a major commitment to get one.

BTW, no reputable breeder or shelter/rescue would let you adopt a puppy as a surprise gift, so you will have to tell her ahead of time. The only way to really surprise her would be to buy a dog from a pet store, which would be VERY unwise and likely result in heart break for her. Another thing to avoid is any dog sold as a "tea cup." Only BYBs and puppy mills use that term. They want to make you feel like you are getting something special when you are really getting a poorly bred runt that will likely suffer life long health problems. Some will even use the term to describe all their puppies, even though some will be bigger than what the standard states.
