Why does my dog just sit there with her toy in her mouth?

Our 4 and a half year old dachsund has a little pink chew toy that she just sit with in her mouth. Its very cute but it almost looks as if she falls alseep sometimes. She places her paws on top as if she's pinning it to the ground and then just sits there with it in her mouth. Does anyone have any idea why she does this?|||i think she waiting for you to play with her|||Sounds like it might be her favorite toy and she's proud of it. It might be her way of protecting it so nothing else (in her little puppy mind) gets it. My lab carries his toy all the time even when he goes outside to go potty.|||maybe she is "mothering" it. Or she could be wanting you to play with her. try it and see.
