Does anyone know where I can find a toy poodle to breed with my dog?

I have always wanted to breed my cockapoo, but the vet told us that she is to little. She is a one year old female and weighs almost seven pounds. The vet also said that we could breed her with a toy poodle if we really wanted to breed her. The only problem is that I don't know anyone that has a male toy poodle. Does anyone know where I can find a toy poodle to breed with her? |||I don't know who's more ignorant here, you or your vet.

The only ethical reason to breed dogs is to improve the breed. There is absolutely no chance of this happening with your dog, because what you have is a MUTT.

Nobody with a good toy poodle would be interested in breeding their dog with a mixed-breed dog, seriously. Your cockapoo will live a long, healthy, happy life if you get her spayed. Breeding her, and not spaying her puts her at risk for all kinds of things, including pyometra and possibly death.

I don't know of anyone who would be interested.|||Get your dog spayed.

1 she is a mutt. There is NO reason to breed her. We euthanize thousands of dogs daily in this country.. at least 75-85% are mixed breed dogs. Breeding should only be done to preserve and improove a breed. Since she's a mix, there's nothing to preserve or improove upon, and you'd just be creating more mutt puppies.

2. She's too young anyways. A dog should be at least 2 years of age. Proper genetic health testing should be done prior to breeding.. OFA, CERF, BAER, and Optigen tests.

3. this dog came from an irresponsible breeder.. you have no way of tracking and researching the pedigree to assure that there are not any health or temperment issues in her back ground.

4. 7 pounds is tiny.. you put her at risk for complications and needing a cecarian.

5. no one with any decent poodle for stud would ever consider studding to your mixed breed dog.

Get your dog spayed.. there's too many dogs in this country and not enough homes. If you're not a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem.
