Why does my cat carry his favorite toy around meowing?

He is almost 10, at times he will carry the toy in his mouth while meowing loudly, it sounds awful when he does this. He is an indoor fixed cat, his 2 brothers don't do this, he is the only one. Is this normal for some cats?|||My cats do this all the time! Sometimes they are wanting me to play with them, sometimes they want the other cat to play.

Usually, though, they are just "announcing" that they have caught the extremely elusive toy and they are quite proud of themselves. I usually talk to them and tell them "oh, good job catching that!" and go on about what a wonderful hunter they are. That usually seems to satisfy them.

We've had a lot of cats over the years, and some do this, some don't. Usually it's the ones that are more vocal, but not always.|||The only thing i can think of is that your cat could want someone to play with him? But i cant see any medical thing to do with it.|||I would agree. he wants to play with you!|||he wants to play|||It's possible he's got issues. No, I'm not being a troll.

Some researchers believe animals can develop depression and other problems. I've seen evidence of this myself and believe it. Since your cat's behavior doesn't seem to be something that makes him happy you might try just giving him a little more attention. Is there a toy he likes to chase? Physical activity is always a good thing.
