My cats like to put their toy felt mice in their food bowl. I will take the mice out and within 5 minutes, the mice are back in the food bowl. I know it must be hard for them to eat with the mice there but the cats seem to like it. My friends cats do the same thing.|||I have a cat who used to put her toys in the water bowl. I think it's a sign of ownership of their things. Those are their toys and that's their food so it all goes together, that kind of mentality.|||Ladiesman217 Is right|||Mine do the same darn thing; or she;ll cover the food with papers envelopes ' socks whatever she can find thru the house.I know in the wild cats have to cover their food so predators can;t smell it' or other cats can;t steal it.I t must be in their cat genes,WAIT TILL THEY PUT A REAL MOUSE IN YOUR BEDROOM AND IT;S RUNNING AROUND IN THERE.mine did and that was totally scary as i;m scared of mice and rats, lots of luck.|||LOL, mine puts hers in the water bowl. She also walks around with it in her mouth meowing really loudly.|||I would think that your cat thinks of the mouse as food.|||Maybe it's some kind of a game. Cats are natural hunters and like to play hunting games. My cat puts her mice under the couch or behind a piece of furniture in order to then try to get it out. We used to help her fish it out because we thought it was an accident that her mice got there. But then we realized she was doing it on purpose, and it was entertainment for her.
Maybe this is the final stage of the hunt, like they've killed the mice and now will "eat" them!|||because they associate the bowl with food, and to them they consider the toy mouse they think they've killed to be food, so they throw it in with their real food.|||that might mean that he /she wants a mice so it could eat it.
THE CAT LIKE MICE|||They might think its dead, I dunno, but my cats do the same thing.
