What kind of breed is a cross between a La-Chon and Toy Poodle?

We just had a litter of 6 and its a cross between a male La-Chon and a female Toy Poodle. My question is what kind of breed is that and are they worth any money?|||there's no such thing as a "La-Chon" Perhaps you mean Bichon?

A mix of anything would be a MUTT.. its not any kind of breed. Mutt puppies are only worth the cost of their vet care.. so if they had first shots and worming, $25-50

Get your dogs spayed and neutered.|||They are nothing but mutts, and they aren't worth anything... good job being responsible.|||There mutts and they are worth what you put into them which is $50-75 tops.

A la-chon is a mutt, so they are 3/4 mutt 1/4 poodle aka mutt.|||Mutts or mixed breed..they are worth as much money as you put in to them as far as shots and vet checked..25 to 50 bucks..tops|||A " La-chon " is a cross between a Lhasa Apso and Bichon Frise, making it a mixed breed, or mutt.

So, a " La-chon " and toy poodle breeding is also a mutt.

They are only worth the money you put into their deworming and vaccines.

Shame shame on you for adding to the overpopulation of dogs.

I do volunteer work at a shelter. It's very common to see these made up breeds created by greedy, irresponsible people ( that would be you ), and dropped off because the idiots that buy these dogs don't want them anymore. So I and my co-workers clean up the sad mess that you are helping to create.

I have nothing against the dogs, but I have a lot against the hundreds of greedy people doing this for their own benefit - without any thought or care about the consequences of their actions.

Way to go.|||they arent a breed its a mix of breeds which is a mutt! nothing but a mutt. nothing more then you find in a shelter.

they are not worth the newspapers they pee on. give them to good homes on a spay/neuter contract and fix your dog .|||They are nothing more than a litter of mutts who could have been prevented if one of the humans involved had been responsible enough to get their dogs fixed

Mutt + Pet quality purebred = badly bred triple mutts.

They aren't worth more than $75. MAYBE 100 if you have them microchipped and altered BEFORE they are sold.

A "La-chon" isn't a breed. Its an overpriced mutt with a stupid label.|||Lhasa Apso x Bichon=La-chon x Poodle=Lhasa Apso x Bichon Frise x Poodle. A common mutt and no I'm not going to give the dog any stupid names to make a mutt sound like a purebred

It a simple random bred mutt!

Unsuspecting people will believe the lies that these breeders say. These "one of a kind" dogs are no more "rare and exotic" than any other mutt and mixed breed in the shelters today. They are simply mixed breed dogs, that people made up fancy names for. Naming these dogs is simply a way to sell puppy-mill dogs and backyard accidents for an inflated price by duping the uneducated buyer into believing he is acquiring a purebred dog. You may find a truly "unusual" designer mutt, such as a "Box-a-Shiht" (Boxer/Shih Tzu) or "Bull-Shiht" (Bulldog/Shih Tsu)

“We're combining the best of both breeds into one! If we cross one breed with the poodle, we can get a non shedding dog!

Not exactly. Genetics doesn't work that way. A breeder can't pick and choose what features will be passed on from each breed. It's strictly a matter of luck because the genetic combinations involved in the crossing of breeds is random and unpredictable. There is just as much of a chance that the puppy will grow up to have the worst characteristics of both breeds! To achieve the best combinations in every dog there has to be centuries of breeding behind that dog

“The price is so high because they're one of a kind.”

One of a kind, sure they are, just like every other dog sitting in shelters. Every mixed breed dog, whether bred deliberately or by accident, is one of a kind because these is no breed description as to what it should look like. No two are alike. Why should the breeders receive hundreds of dollars while millions of mixed breeds are euthanized everyday in shelters. No way. If “one of a kind” made a dog valuable, every mixed breed dog at the pound would be worth a fortune!

Does this mean that all producer of mixes are unscrupulous and deceitful? No, many of them are simply ignorant of responsible breeding practices and unaware of what they're really doing. Both the deceitful and the ignorant, though, prey on the ignorance of the public. Once people know the truth about these breeders and pets, people will start adopting instead of buying and the breeders will stop breeding. It is simple supply and demand.

Don't be fooled by the cute names, “one of a kind” titles, and the high prices! You can find “designer dogs” of every size, shape, color and personality as close as your local humane society or rescue service and at a far more reasonable cost. Why not go there first and save a life? You'll be glad you did!

Why purposely breed cute puppies when some are already going to die because they can't find homes.

Mixed-up-Mutts is a site deticated to responsible pet care. Although I believe mixed breeds are the best pets out there, I do not believe that they should be purposely bred. This is the page that demonstrates the reasons why breeding mixed breeds is irresponsible.

I hope you realise that each pup born take 3 dogs lives from the shelter. I guess your to interesting in making money, to be concerned about the number of dogs killed in shelters due to the fact you breed your mutt? Hate to tell you, mutt breeding is NOT profitable. There more to breeding then mating a mutt dog with a purebred. Not that simple

The Reasons People Should NOT Breed Their Dogs:

?I want another one just like my dog.

This never works according to plan. When a dog gets pregnant, the puppies will take the father's traits, personality, and physical, and the mother's traits, and mix them up, taking some of one, some of another, and developing their own altogether. You will never get a perfect match. In stead you may end up with the worst traits of both dogs.

Even cloning a dog (see Cloning Your Dog) has proven that while a genetic match is possible, looks and temperament are still in the hands of Fate.

?I want to make money.

I can't believe people can still think they can make money off of puppies. The cost of breeding will overshadow any profits you think to make. The puppies need their first shots before going to their new homes, the mother needs frequent check-ups, and heaven forbid if something goes wrong. And something always goes wrong.

?I want my children to witness the miracle of birth.

This "miracle" can now be easily viewed by both children and adults thanks to such wonderful programming as "A Baby Story" and "Maternity Ward", both available on cable television.

Not only that, but how much of a "miracle" will your child be seeing if your beloved pet dies halfway through delivery?

?Puppies are cute, there's always people who want puppies.

No, unfortunately this is the most ignorant assumption made these days. Not everybody wants puppies. Hundreds die everyday because of the lack of homes. How heartbreaking to hold a twelve week old puppy and put her to sleep because somebody thought for sure there would be somebody else who wanted her.

For every puppy born, three die in shelters. There are too many out there and not enough homes for them all.

If this is not enough reasons to stop you from breeding your dog, then here are a few more:

Complications in birth and pregnancies happen all the time. You could face losing your dog to death, and all the puppies with her. Will YOU pay the $1200.00 for a much-needed emergency cesarean section when she cannot deliver the pups?

What about sexually-transmitted diseases? That stud dog you had picked out may have one. They are more common than you think.

How about genetic diseases? They abound.

Breeding is not a careless affair, it is so much more than bringing ***** and stud together during a heat cycle.

Please think it over carefully
