What is the best chew toy for puppys?

i have a puppy who is about 6 months old.she has alot of chew toys but she she really only likes one. it is her hedgehog. she really loves it. but i want her to have a another toy to play with that she really likes too. what should i get her?|||squeaky toy|||go buy her a sliper of give her a old slipper to toss around and play with!!|||a dead cat|||a piece of rubber crap|||Something that will stimulate their gums (something rough coated).|||a ball is best, dont give the dog something that looks like stuff in the house you dont wnt the dog to chew on like shoes.|||Your expensive Italian leather shoes.|||let her play with her favorite!! my dog loves frizbees. we try to give her something new with like a knotted rope or a ball but she just ignores them. let her play with what she thinks is fun. dogs don't need new things all the time like people do.|||well dogs are like li'l children...once they like something....no matter how many toys you load them with...they'll never change their preference...so let your li'l pup enjoy the hedgehog....till she loses interest in it.|||how about a tennis ball?|||I buy my dogs pig hooves. They last a long time, so they are inexpensive. The only drawback is they smell terrible after they are used for a while. When they start to smell bad they are then used only outdoors.|||There are several good ones that perform multiple functions. The rope toys are good for dental health as it acts like doggie dental floss. The "Kong" brand of toys are also designed for dental health. There are some interactive toys that combat bordom as you can insert food or peanut butter to give the pup a challenge. You may want to stay away from pig ears and rawhide as large chunks can be swollowed and in some cases are slow to digest and can cause an obstructinon. Good luck...|||Mine really loved the Kong puppy teething toys.|||I say a bone. Your puppy can chew on it and the bone can help her teeth and taste good to her at the same time. Have fun with your puppy!|||Get her soft ones like a stuffed animal from the pet store, and get her a harder one so her gumms can strengthen up, you can also give her old shoes/slippers to chew on, so she might not chew on your new ones.

Godd Luck! :-)|||Kong! They are the best, hands down. Lots of sizes for all dogs, really hard rubber so they're practically indestructible. The have a hole so you can put natural peanut better with a dog cooking in it and they spend hours trying to get it out. They're a great kennel toy because to that.

The next best thing isn't a chew toy, it's a Chuck It. It's a gripper that allows you throw tennis balls much further with little effort. The dog has farther to run to play fetch and it wears them out better. It also lets you pick up the balls is the Chuck It so you never touch a slobbery ball.

Good Luck.|||A chew toy that will last a long time and that is good for dogs who chew ALOT is a Nylabone. I have a pit bull puppy around the same age as yours, and it took her about 2-3 months for her to chew through it - and she destroys most of her toys within 2 months.

Another toy she loves is the Kong, which is a rubber toy that you fill with peanut butter or other goodies, so the dogs will chew on it for hours to get the food out.|||The hedgehog is plush? She'll really only be able to play with that one for a while before she rips it open. My dog loves his puppy Kong. You can stuff treats into it so that they get to chew but also exercise their brain. He'll play with it for hours. He's also a freak over ice cubes. Simple things you know? So sometimes I put ice cubes into his Kong.|||since she likes the hedgehog i say give her a sonic sqeaky toy to play with, too......if anyone thinks this is funny e-mail me at jdawg5493@yahoo.com|||There are lots of good chew toys for puppies, but the Kong is one of the best, because it is virtually indestructible. I would stay away from soft latex or stuffed toys, because your puppy might tear it apart and swallow some of the material, and that would not be good!

I think you are wise to have a good variety of toys, because most puppies have a short attention span and can get bored with their toys very easily. Something that squeaks or makes some kind of noise might interest her. Nyla bones are good too, and you can get free samples.
