Surely the Government and Mothercare, Early Learning Centre and ToysRus along with all other major toy retailers should withdraw ALL toys Made in China until the danger is over?
Lead in paint is toxic to adults (check on a paint tin), to children it may be much worse.
Why are they not acting????|||No the government has enough to do without babysitting. It is a parent's job to protect their children. Toys from China are cheap. You get what you pay for.|||Chinese toys are not cheap, they are hugely expensive, thats why retailers favour them-lots of profit.
It all boils down to whether or not your childs welfare is a high or low priority, and the price you put on it?

They just act slowly but surely|||Well, as consumers we ought to be a bit more choosy what w buy our kids, but at the same time you do tend to trust the manufacturers.
The trouble is with withdrawing all toys made in China, is that the shops will be empty and it is nearly Chrsitmas. The effect on the economy would be devestating.

Nice to know they really couldn't give a **** hey?|||Apart from our duty, the Govt and the toy manufacturers, or retailers should protect the children from using toys which are injurious to health. They should not bother about the money they might loose or earn but should think about the young innocent children whose life they will spoil by selling such things.|||I have solved this problem by not buying toys/products made in china. Different governments have different policies. In the USA there are stricter laws. The government can't do everything. It's not just toys either we have several products made in China that we have been told contain lead paint. (One of them is a cub scout badge). This is the largest toy recall we have ever had, but I don't think there is a way to get all the dangerous products off the market, so we as consumers must make better choices.
