How to clean a kong toy for dogs?

My mum is a bit sceptical about putting peanut butter or any other runny food into a knog toy, because she says it will be hard to clean. Can you tell me how you are supposed to clean it, and what treats you find are the best|||Dishwasher gets it completely clean, but you can also handwash with HOT water and liquid dish soap ... Dawn works great at cutting grease. You can buy a brush (meant for cleaning baby bottles) anywhere you'd buy baby stuff (Wal*Mart, etc.)

Some things I've stuffed a Kong with ... peanut butter, kibble, soft dog treats, pieces of chicken, hamburger, steak, ... rice, vegetables ... really, you can put anything the dog likes in there.

Something else you can try is blocking the smaller end and freezing the Kong with some broth in it ... Dogs love that! But it can be messy as it melts, so probably best for outdoors!|||l use the Kong Stuffing, peanut butter, pate, treats, although something soft like peanut butter helps to hold the treats in, takes them longer to get them out that way.

You can also freeze it, cover one hole with tape, then fill with water, stick it in the freezer and then give it to your dog on a hot day, it helps to cool them down.

l either put it in the sink with hot soapy water and use a bottle cleaner (use the ones you get for cleaning babies bottles) to clean it out, or stick it in the dishwasher.|||i have a very large kong toy for my staffy.

i fill it with food and freeze it over night before giving it to her. once she has finished with it i put it in hot water containing steralizing fluid, the same stuff used for baby bottles. after a couple of hours of soaking i wash it thru with hot water again and make sure all traces of food have gone befor leaving it to dry.|||It's tricky, but the best way to clean then after peanut butter use is to leave them in a bath of hot, soapy water for a while. After this the peanut butter should rinse right out.|||I put mine in the dishwasher, I sometimes stuff it full of pureed steak and dry kibble if it's for a meal, or peanut butter for a treat.|||I've never put peanut butter in mine, I usually stick with whatever treats I have, usually the "tasty" dog bones that are all colorful, but yes I imagine that the dish washer would work just fine for cleaning them out.|||Soak in hot, soapy water. Use and old tooth brush if you have to. We put a dog biscuit in the top and seal it with peanut butter or Velveeta cheese. Messy but entertaining.|||you can put it in a dishwasher.. or wash it with hot, soapy water.. you can use a bottle brush to get inside of it.|||Dishwasher works well, but handwashing is usually sufficient. Dishwashers are easier though.|||use a brush that you would clean a babies bottle with and warm soapy water :)|||Cleans well in the dishwasher.

BTW, its designed to hold "stuff" like peanut butter :)|||I put mine in the dish washer, it works great. I fill my with peanut butter all the time.|||I stick our dog's one in the dishwasher.|||id use an old tooth brush
