How do you get the stain and/or goop off my toy poodles face?

My toy poodle is 2 years old. I just adopted him and every time I try to clean his face he puts up a pretty good fight twisting his head and what not. Anyway, I cannot clean the brown/orange stains under his eyes - I have tried a clean, warm wash cloth doesn't do much.|||Discuss this with your vet. he or she might prescribe, Tetracycline to clear up the problem. Then, you can keep the area clean with Angel eyes or show eyes. Hair from the nasal fold can grow up against the eyeball and cause irritation.

The offending hairs should be removed by clipping, or in some cases by plucking. Don't attempt this on your own! Those requiring attention can often be identified because they are stained and discolored by tears. Please ask your vet!|||yuck poodles are ugly

It works well and doesn't sting if it gets in the eyes. My friend uses it on her poodle all the time.|||tear stains go away if you feed your dog Angel's Eyes.|||There is this product called Crystal Eyes, it works wonders when I groom white breeds.|||His eyes are weepy because hes close to the floor and near dust. I would just do a quick wipe when hes asleep and not fuss to much about it.

My kids thought it would be funny to make a Hiler mustache on one of my dogs. I just had to wait it out, until it came off on its own.|||Nothing will clean up the stains, It has to grow out. They eyes need cleaning everyday to prevent the goop from building up and causing the stains. Keeping the hair clipped (by a groomer) will help keep the area from gooping up.|||Vinegar is a good home remedy for getting rid of the tear stains. Just be careful not to get a lot of it in the eyes. Put vinegar on a cotton ball and wipe twice a day for a couple of days and it'll fade until it disappears.|||I think that the stains have to grow out too, and be clipped by a groomer, though they might be prevented with the Crystal Eyes or something. Absolutely wash every day, or a few times a day. Nice doggie.
