Any suggestions for a good toy to put in the crib with my 7 month old son?

He will not take a pacifier and isn't 'connecting' with his blanket the way my daughter did. Any ideas on a good toy to give him to sleep with?|||I personally just give my baby a teething ring or something small and hard that will occupy his time and help him fall asleep, but yet its not so small to choke on and not so soft that he could smother himself with it.

Helps my son fall asleep all the time (from 7mo until now so far at 10 mo)|||Logan has the exact same crib side mobile that Hannah's mommy has. He loves it because he can push the button himself to turn it on and off when he pleases. It is soothing, it lights up and the monkey swings in the tree and the fish swims in the bubbles.

You could also try the glow worm like seahorse. It's like a teddy bear, but you press it's belly and it glows.

They sell those "toys" that hook onto the side and light up, play music or ocean sounds, some have mirrors or jungle animals or fish. Or a teether like some of the others have suggested.|||I bought my son an elmo simular to this grover at an airport, and he liked it because it was not overstuffed, easy to hug, it had long arms to tug on and pull about,he really enjoys it still today and he's two,

|||Something soft on the outside with maybe a music button when you press its tummy. They also have soft toys like that that also have crinkly ears and/or rings on the side that may also make a noise. It holds their interest to where I'm sure he'd like it and it would be safe to sleep with. |||My son always has a teething ring in his crib..... it works great for him and is safe.... I don't have to worry about it being smothering or distracting during bedtime either yet he wakes up... sits up and starts chewing on it which gives me time to brush my teeth and start my coffee pot before going to get him. |||Ok, he can't chew on this, but it worked wonders for my daughter, and at 21 months, she still uses it constantly. I will hear her wake up in the middle of the night, and she turns it on and goes back to sleep.

It is the Fisher Price Rainforest soother...it plays music and lights up. The monkey "dances". My DD calls it her "mookey movie"

not so... fluffly.

so... yap, a teddy bear ;]|||Experiment with different things. Just make sure it doesnt have sharp edges or lead paint. |||Maybe a soft cuddly teddy bear that he can snuggle up to.|||how about the sleep sheep?

my daughter really enjoyed hers.. |||a moblie (hanging that can be reached) and a scratch resistant, unbreakable mirror. at this age, they like looking at themselves.|||put in a stuffed animal :)|||any kind of soft stuffed animal. babies love soft things.|||just a teddy bear. it will become his best friend.|||a teddy bear|||my kids loved the heartbeat bear....|||A bear or bunny shaped teether-i know i loved it! it was my lil buddie- Or a not to big not to small hugable teddy P.s. no talking ones, they get very annoying.|||None. A crib is for sleeping not playing. He will cry like crazy for a few nights and then it will be better.|||He doesn't NEED a toy to sleep with

babies will sleep some need a dummy, some dont. Some attatch to a blankie, some dont.

why not play some soothing music, at night time?
