Any ideas on how to train my toy poodle?

I recently got a toy poodle approx. 2 months ago. He is 3 years old. He was potty trained by his previous owner and he was doing really good when we first got him about not going pee inside the house. Now almost everytime I turn around he has peed in some part of the house. I am stern with him and I tell him no and show him that he is not supposed to go there. But I am not sure what the problem is. I take him out more than enough and sometimes he even pees inside right after we have come home from his walks. Any idean on what might be going on?|||There are many ways to train your poodle, I have 2 toy poodles myself and i'm also a qualified dog trainer and behaviourists, You never mentioned if he has been neutered or not, if not its healthier for the dog because it eliminates some medical problems that need the excess testosterone that conditions like prostate cancer etc. anyway as for the peeing in the house he can still probably smell where he has been before and is re-scenting his area. What you need to do is buy a spray that completly elimates the urine, most cleaners only remove what we can see and smell but as far as he's concerned its still there and he is just strengthening or re-inforcing it. Best easy advice is to spray the urine eliminator anywhere and everywhere he has peed and then watch him carefully and everytime he looks like he is about to pee put him outside and wait until he pees outside and then give him something he likes whether that is food or a toy, whatever floats his boat. He will then realise that going to pee outside is a good thing and he gets rewarded and makes you happy with you saying good boy, and a key word like toilet. Hope this helps

All the best Lorna|||One of the best methods I found with house training is just attach the leash to you and keep him right with you. When he starts to go make a loud "AH" noise to get his attention and get him outside and praise him big time when he goes outside.

I've fostered a few dogs. The most I've ever had to do this was 4 days.

I also associate a word with it like "potty" The whole time we are outside I tell them "go potty" over and over again. And when they go I praise with "good potty"! My dogs will just about pee on command by reinforcing this constantly.

Crate training is also helpful. Keep him in his crate when he's not being watched until he can be trusted.

If no amount of training seems to help, have the vet check him out for any possible medical reasons he may have for doing this.|||what you should to is get one of those white mats from walmart or something and you should set him down on it and tell him thats where he should go then every time he goes there (if he does)then give him a treat i know it sounds wierd but it may work
