Where can I get a teacup or toy dog in Midwest?

I am thinking of getting a small toy or teacup dog- not sure what kind to get or where to get it from. I want something near WI, so I dont have to ship the animal. I also perfer it not shed like crazy.|||'Teacup' dogs are sickly overpriced runts that

puppymills/back-yard-breeders scam people with and sell for profit.

You should start doing a load of reading on owning a dog, breeds of dog, yearly costs of a dog,and ect. As for "Where can I find one?" look at local animal shelters.|||try a short haired chihuahua or a larger short haired dog depending on how big of a dog you want and try craigslist for breeders that were i got one of my dogs or your local newspapers|||A "teacup" is just a poorly bred runt. Get a normal size dog.|||Teacup- pottery barn or craft store

Toy - unless it is a breed with the ACTUAL title of toy attached to it such as TOY poodle or TOY manchester terrier, your local toy store.

There is no such thing as a teacup anything and unless the breed standard has toy listed amongst the breed sizes all small breeds come in one size.

Since you do not know what you want yet I suggest looking at the AKC's toy breed group and finding what breed suits your needs.

From there you can go through a reputable breeder found through the breed's club ex - Poodle club of america, a breed specific rescue or your local shelter to find a dog/puppy|||look in your local paper type in teacup pups in your websearch browser if you decide to buy from a breeder......... whatever breeder you buy it from. make sure they dont inbreed or linebreed ask to see papers on both parents n the pup.you might be paying more in vet bills then you do for the pup dont buy inbred or linebred crap.make sure you get a shot record thats signed by a vet so you know the pups seen a vet.its your choice on what you do.goodluck.
